Has it really been a week since National Quilt Day?
The last 2 weeks have been just a blur of quilting. Not a bad thing at all! Like many of you, on National Quilters Day, I got together with Guild friends and all us of worked on blocks for Veteran's Appreciation quilts for Vets of Miami Co., KS--ok, we did plenty of talking and had a great lunch where no one heeded the suggestion that desserts should be healthy! Come on--we're quilters and need chocolate sustenance.
The week before I worked on the pictured quilt--a sample made from Studio E fabrics for the Lil' Red Hen Quilt Shop in Paola, KS. Jenny is busy getting ready for the Heartland Shop Hop in 2 weeks (April 3,4,5). Loved the fabric--the design just practically had built in quilting lines! Although the black So Fine thread I used did seem to melt into the fabric so the quilting was not as visible as I'd planned--but it was fun to "pet".
This week I've been working on graduation T-shirt quilts, a slew of baby quilts for one customer, and next up are play mats for the grandboys for Easter. Did some planning and figured out that between customers and personal, the next 2 months are likely to go quick. Like many of you, I find myself busier in retirement than when I worked full time--or at least there's more I don't want to say "no" to! Keep quilting!
