Quilt show over--retreating next week!
The Miami Co Quilters Guild had a great show--just some amazing quilts of all sizes and styles. I'm especially proud that my friend's Carol won a blue for her quilt in the beginner category. She took the beginner class blocks--rail fence, g-ma's flower garden, an single applique flower, drunkards path and Sarah's choice star and did some creative design and voila! A great quilt! I loved her fabrics when she picked out the fabric and even more when she brought it to me to quilt. Her use of different size blocks, I think, really pushes it well beyond a typical beginner quilt. Way to go, Carol!
I was also pleased that my daughter entered her first completed bed size quilt. It looked very nice hanging in the show and it was her version of a rail fence-but one she sketched out herself. I did enter some quilts, and while others really liked my modern tessalations, didn't win any ribbons!
I spent the day repairing fencing on the north pasture so I can move horses later this week. And then on the long arm finishing a customer quilt. One more customer quilt to do this week--and then prepare for my Fall retreat! I have a number of projects in the works so will take several of them and hopefully will get lots of work done--including a g-boy's newborn quilt.

We are awaiting the arrival of another g-boy--a difficult and at risk pregnancy so lots of prayers. His due date is Nov 2 but he's expected maybe a little earlier. Keep you posted.
