Have a new knee--OUCH!
A week ago today, my othropedist, Dr. Mark Humphrey, did a total knee replacement on my right knee. I spent 4 days, with excellent care from all, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center. I came home this past Thurs and my hubbie, Jack, has been "waiting on me hand and foot". As a rather impatient person, I feel like this is taking a long time for me to "get moving!" But as Alice, my home PT, reminded me yesterday (yes, she came on a SUNDAY!) it's only been a week and I had major work done! So I sit here, trying to pass the time, taking the painkillers (which make me foggy) and doing my PT exercises. My goal is that by the 3rd week of Dec. I'm able to actually do some work on the long arm (do you think a month is long enough?).
But in the meantime, when my daughter and SIL come out Thurs to fix Thanksgiving dinner, I plan to have her bring downstairs my travel sewing machine, my tools, and some projects I prepared to sew before my surgery. And I also have some paperwork to accomplish soon for the Miami Co Quilters Guild Beginner's classes, and my friend Jenny is coming over the 2nd week of Dec. to play on the long arm--I'll sit and direct and she will do the work. We are both excited. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving!
