Still waiting for that new g-son!
We are waiting for word from our son that the new baby is here, so we can dash to Omaha with his quilt and see him! He's due the first of November, but our son says the Dr. is saying any day now, that he's going to be a bruiser and Mom is READY!
I had a great time at my Fall retreat. The weather was just perfect---like today! And despite the fact that I lost a contact and forgot my glasses and had to dash home the first day, I managed to get so many projects "finished" and ready for quilting. I've even managed to get a couple of my personal projects quilted since then. I was also the envy of everyone with my "new" machine set-up! I had my Big Look magnifier set up with my machine and took my own sewing chair and had my $20 Dr. Scholl's heated/vibrating chair pad on it---TOTALLY accomplished my goal of better posture and no back pain! High recommend it.
Looking at about a month before I'm laid up with my knee replacement, I'm getting the 3 customer quilts done that I have to do, finishing the sewing on my daughter's tree skirt and then quilt and getting at least one more Christmas present quilted for my neice. But once I get home from the hospital and through what I know is a very painful second week (done this before on the other knee) I have a great project planned. I have an art quilt in the sketchbook and found some FQ on the cheap at Tues Morning that are just perfect--think it's a sign! One other thing I will do is pull stash for the latest Bonnie Hunter scrap mystery quilt. I have the Valspar paint chips and while I'm not "seeing" the colors just yet, I love the fact that it's a great way to use up so many scaps in my stash(although I may have to actually buy some FQ too!)
Below is my modern quilted "Tessalations"! What you don't see is the "pebbling" in the print--another picture from the back.
