Celebrating new g-son and new knee soon!
Our new g-son, Charlie Simon, was born Oct 28 and both he and Mom are A-OK! His middle brother, Gavin, who is 13months old is not really excited about him, but his 6yr old brother, Nikolas is happy!
The past month has been a whirlwind--baby, quilting, Dr. appointments, quilting, church and Guild work, quilting. Part of what is fueling all this activity is my scheduled knee replacement (2nd knee) on Nov. 17. While I am looking forward to eventually being able to have a working knee again (and not straining my already replaced knee), I know that I'm looking at lots of hard work, pain and being limited (or "off") the long arm for about 2 months.
It also means that both my typical Thanksgiving and Christmas efforts will be greatly reduced--which seems somewhat of a mixed blessing!
But I think the timing is about as good as it can be. I
t should leave me time to heal before some planned quilting for the Kansas City Regional Quilt Fest that has to be done by end of Feb. and our planned trip to Ireland next fall.
So with only this next week to do all the "have to" and "want to" stuff, I'm heading to Hamilton,MO on Monday. That's right! Nothing like getting to pet fabric in a whole town full of Missouri Star Quilt Store shops and hanging with the GF's. Road trip!! And here's a treat for you--the back side of Ruthie's pinwheel quilt for her son's Christmas.
