Yikes! Daughter's wedding in 6 weeks and I'm not ready!

Our oldest g-son left last Thurs. evening after a week of VBS. While I have taken the time to put together antique bow-tie blocks bought at an estate sale, and a few other odds and ends, I'm realizing that I have so much to do in the next 6 weeks!

My son and family are considering moving back to area, so will be here later this week to look into jobs, etc. Would love to have them closer, especially with another baby due in Nov.

And my daughter is getting married in mid-Sept--which is only 6 weeks away! I have so much to do to prepare, despite my daughter being wonderfully organized and really taking on all the planning of her wedding. She and I worked on table toppers/clothes all afternoon today. We used a scalloped rotary cutter on 1 1/4yd cuts of blue and purple batiks to go on top of the white wideback for the round tables. The wideback will be recycled for quilt backs, so we put basted hems on most to make 90" squares. This was her first intro to the long arm machine! We managed to get all the batik cut and 7 of the widebacks hemmed--out of 14 needed. The original goal was 17 tables--but 3 tables are on the patio so we've adjusted plans to use white plastic clothes on those tables. Because they are outside, right? That's our story and we're sticking to it!

The batiks will also be used afterward (along with a cream colored batik) to make the newlyweds a storm-at-sea quilt. My promise is to get it to them no later than their first anniversary!

Pray for much needed rain---which will also keep us out of the garden and sewing!
