Actually have made a quilt despite work schedule!

Taking the water wellness position has required some adjustment to a new schedule, and just when I thought I was getting a grip on it, the pool was closed for 2 weeks in order to do some maintenance. But I'll be back in the pool again starting next Monday--so in the meantime we have been frantically hustling to get other stuff done.

August quilting consisted of finishing the quilt shown for our retiring pastor, Sandy Harris. Sandy has been an irreplaceable part of our church life and also the whole community. And while he and his family are staying in the community, he is on a vacation from church for a month or so with travel, etc. In the meantime we are adjusting to an interim pastor and awaiting a full-time replacement. We decided that an autograph quilt, with the picture of the church in the center was just right to honor him. When I asked his wife his favorite colors she replied, "Navy"---and indicated that was it! Our center photo was printed by Donna & Viola's T-shirts in Osawatomie, KS. Donna does a great job on printing and also has embroidered labels for quilts for me. Kathy Armstrong & Darlene Hadsall helped make all the blocks and then we had church members autograph them with a Tulip fabric pen.'While it says it's washable, I did warn Sandy that both the church photo and the autographs may fad with washing so be gentle! The lettering was done by tracing around a stencil set of letters.
